Italian legend Alessandro Nesta will play in the MLS with Montreal Impact, the Corriere dello Sport are reporting.
The 36-year-old, who is now out of contract at Milan, is understood to have agreed a one-year deal with the Canadian club on Sunday.
It is being claimed that Marco Di Vaio, who joined Impact earlier this summer from Bologna, helped convince the defender to make the switch.
Nesta, currently on holiday in Miami, was being linked with a transfer to New York Red Bulls but no approach was made.
Impact also have Italian defender Matteo Ferrari and Bernardo Corradi in their ranks.
Nesta and Di Vaio were teammates in the Lazio youth system.
