Thiago Silva wanted to stay in Milan

Thiago Silva has insisted that he didn’t request a transfer from Milan to Paris Saint-Germain. “I had just renewed my contract.”
The Brazilian has been sold to PSG for €42m and he’ll be joined by Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede completed his switch on Wednesday.

“I’m happy with the transfer, but sad that I have had to say goodbye to Milan,” he said from Brazil’s Olympic training camp.

“I experienced some strong emotions there. It is a club which dedicates itself to its players and the squad – I owe them everything.

“My transfer to Paris was not a decision taken by me – that’s 100 per cent certain – after all, I had just extended my contract.
People who understand about football know how things went and it was a complicated matter for me. It was my desire, and that of my family, to not leave Milan. I’m not going to PSG to earn more money. I’m not a mercenary, but I want to say sorry to the Milan fans.”

It was only after Silva discussed the French club’s ambitions with PSG sporting director Leonardo, his former boss at Milan, that he gave the move the green light.

“Leonardo and Carlo Ancelotti phoned me and I have great affection and respect for Leonardo,” the stopper added.

“Their project was what pushed me to change clubs. As Ibrahimovic has said, they are building a dream team. I want to make history with the club.”

Not a good period to be a Rossonero

In the last few years, Milan has lost Shevchenko, Kaka yesterday the best defender in the world Thiago Silva and as late as tomorrow probably and Ibrahimovic will be a goner.
Ibra's words on a phone call with Galliani describes better in what kind of a financial situation really Milan is.
"Adriano, I heard Milan has no money left, is it true? It ended up really, really bad.You want me to write you a check or leave you a tip before I'm gone too?"- these are words that Ibra has said to Galliani about Milan's financial situation.
Other question that comes to us Rossoneri is:-One month earlier Berlusconi stepped up and broke up PSG negotiations with PSG by saying Silva is staying put, only exactly a month later Silva was sold, why? Was this a mind game trick? Who will replace a player who can cover up to 5 positions, a player who last season had more passes than any Milan player? Only Andrea Pirlo had more precise passes then Thiago Silva last Seria A season.
Milan on 33 matches with Thiago on the starting line up never conceived a goal.
Who can replace this mega talent? Thiago is on the top of his form, he IS the BEST DEFENDER in the world, so why selling him? Why first saying he stays and then "change of heart" he was sold?
How about "soon to be gone" Ibrahimovic?
Let's take a sneak peak at Ibra's Milan impact over the last two years.
In two seasons with Milan, Ibra has scored 42 goals plus had 17 assists thats a total of 49 goals or if you want with percent 42,7% of total goals for Milan. Who can replace a player who is tall 1,95 has a superb technique, superb jumper, can score, can assist, can create scoring chances, who can replace him? Carroll?!? Crouch?!?
With Bonera, Antonini and Yepes even as bench warmers Milan has huge chances to end up behind Inter this season (let alone ain't speaking about winning Seria A).
Galliani claims Milan's financial situation is not bright, logically great players demand  "crazy money" so this makes us question ourselves-"Is Milan doomed for the next 5 seasons?"

OFFICIAL: Thiago Silva a PSG player

Milan website has announced that Thiago Silva is officially a PSG player. Awesome play, Milan management!!! Now we are going to defend with the likes of Yepes, Bonera (who originally should play for Seria C team), Antonini. I must say fantastic play from Milan.
Ibra is reported to be furious of what Milan management seems to be doing he even yelled to Galliani on the phone saying him: "Do you want me to help you by writing you a check?!?"
They said Silva is 27 and Ibra 30, and how old is KAKA? Tevez?
One of these days you feel ashamed that Milan is being ruled by Galliani and Co.
Football is being ruined, it's all about business. Milan is about to get 200 million euros, 160 from savings on Silva and Ibra wages plus 39 from UEFA last season in competing in Champions League and yet they only spent like 4 million euros. Kudos for this transfer policy.

Dzeko, Tevez, Ganso and Hummels to join Milan?

Yet to be official Ibra-Silva sale, Milan board of directors already is thinking about the new project. In that project are included Dzeko, Tevez, Ganso and Hummels.
Tevez was close in joining Milan last season but the negotiations broke off at the very las second and Tevez stayed put in Manchester City.
Dzeko was the second player who was mostly linked with Milan. Dzeko has opened himself when he once said that he is a Milan fan and would love someday to join his favorite club.
Other names on Milan's shortlist are: Damiao, Astori, Rolando and Papadopoulos.
Yet again a personal thought I'd understand Ibra's departure but Silva is a unique player who can play in 5 positions in defense and midfield. He is irreplaceable and on top of his form, actually top 5 best defenders in the world right now.
It has been reported that Thiago Silva prefers Milan stay, but Milan management (just like in Kaka's situation) wants to sale him to PSG. Silva feels he has been disrespected by Milan management because first they rejected PSG's offer then he signed long deal until 2017 and now again he has been put in Ibra package on the way to Paris.

[UPDATE] Berlusconi-I've sold Ibra and Silva and saved €150 million+ Goal.com picture says it all

Silvio Berlusconi has seemingly confirmed Milan’s sale of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of €62m.
Reports broke just yesterday of the potential deal with PSG, whilst a meeting held on Wednesday between Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola and club Vice-President Adriano Galliani concluded with Raiola travelling to Sweden to reportedly convince Ibra to accept the transfer.
Raiola was deemed successful when today it emerged that he would be arriving in Paris to discuss the player's personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.
Leonardo subsequently met with Raiola this afternoon to hold contract negotiations and, whilst initial reports suggested that those had been unsuccessful with PSG said to be offering less per-season to Ibra than Milan currently pay, Rossonero President Berlusconi has seemingly confirmed that the transfer is set to go through.

“Yes, I have sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG,” Berlusconi is quoted as telling reporters in Italy.

“We will save €150m in two years.”

Matter Bonetti says:

"This is the entire deal: Milan will get 62 million euros for both. Thiago Silva will earn 7.5 million euros in PSG a big improvement from what he earns in Milan (6 million euros), while Ibrahimovic will hearn 12.5 million euros.

This is how could Milan look like this season. An average team. Even the shadow of Milan side that won Champions League is better than this one.
Berlusconi confirmed that Silva and Ibra are sold, 3 week earlier he stepped and said Silva stays. He changes his mind like a girl changes clothes.
2nd picture show us how will look PSG next season. Thats a competitive team, a team that can compete with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man.Utd, Manchester City, Bayern Munchen, with one world PSG became a first class team while Milan a Seria B team even if Tevez and Kaka arrived, the Midfield and Defense needs reconstruction.
P.S. PSG spent 171 million euros in building the team. How much Milan spent? They bought so far 5 players, 3 of them in a free transfer, all in all Milan spent just about 4 Million euros so far in Mercato.
3rd Picture from Goal.com says it all. Picture from a thousand words.

[UPDATE]Curva Sud reacts: "Don't you even think about selling Thiago & Ibra"

Reactions about the possible sale of Milan duo Ibra and Thiago are coming all over football world. Milan legend Costacurta was the latest to express his opinion about Ibra-Thiago Silva to PSG story.

"The offer is too good to be refused"-Costacurta said.
PSG is offering €70 million for Ibra and Thiago Silva, but Milan if the sale goes through will free up to €170 millions.
Milan ultras reacted furiously about this possible sale:
"Stop playing these games, don't you even try to mention Ibra and Silva's names let alone to sell them. If this maddness was about to happen, then it would be better Milan to competet against Novara in Seria B."
Against fans reaction Kaka was also sold in similar fashion. He first refused rich Manchester City offer and a half year later accepted (some suggests against his will) Real Madrid's offer, and Galliani's words were: "The offer was too good to be refused"
Earlier Milan ultras threatened that if this trade happens then they will not attend Milan home games as a sign of a protest.
Hope this maddness won't go through, othervise as Curva Sud said Milan better compete in Seria B !
[UPDATE]
SkySport 24 reports latest news that Ibrahimovic has accepted the transfer proposal from his agent Riola, but has some very important demands from PSG. Those demands are yet unknown. This afternoon there will be held a very important meeting Riola-PSG officials to discuss those demands. It is known that one of those demands is a yearly wage more then €14 million and a 4-year contract.
It is a "Yes" to transfer but strictly under some very important Ibra conditions.
The ball is in PSG's half it's up to them now, who as said will hold a meeting with Ibra's agent Riola this afternoon.

Milan agreed on €70 millions for Ibra + Thiago Silva??

According to "la Gazzetta dello Sport" Milan has accepted the latest PSG offer of €70 million. This source also says that Milan all in all will save a total of €170 million by selling their best duo. Milan will save €108 million from wages and will get around €62 plus bonuses from this sale and the number will be around €170 million.
Latest reports say that Milan agreed in selling Ibrahimovic+Thiago Silva. Earlier this afternoon it was reported that Ibra's agent Riola went to Sweden in attempt to convince Ibra accept PSG's offer.
Thiago Silva will earn around €7 million per season in PSG, while Ibra's PSG wage it is still unknown.
Galliani about this situation said that the fans will be updated on regular bases about Ibra and Thiago Silva's situation.
Seems like Ibra and Thiago will be playing next season for PSG after all, I just wonder how without them Milan will compete in Seria A let alone Champions League.
Imagine current Milan squad without Ibra and Silva, does Galliani thinks that Yepes can replace Silva? or Acerbi? Bonera?!? Can the desperate fat version of Robinho score 30 goals the way Ibra did last season? Cassano? Injury prone Pato? How about the midfield?
In case this duo leaves San Siro, I'm afraid Milan will be nothing then just a 7th seed team.
The sentence "Your best friend is potentialy your worse enemy" could end up being true for Milan, as Leonardo and Ancelotti are doing everything they can to snap Ibra and Silva out of Milan.
Pray for this sale no to happen, Rossoneri!
Amin.

ShevaGoal: Milan is still a competitive club

The former Rossoneri star feels that there is plenty of reason for optimism at his old club, despite the departure of a number of first-team regulars
The Dynamo Kiev attacker still keeps tabs on his old club, and believes that the Rossoneri have enough talented players left to challenge for top honours.

"I always follow Milan very closely and I am always in contact with [Ariedo] Braida, [Adriano] Galliani and my former team-mates. I have no doubt regarding the current team: they are still very competitive. They decided to keep Thiago Silva, and have Ibrahimovic, Boateng, Nocerino and other quality players. You must be optimistic."- Shevchenko was quoted as saying by Milannews.it.
Shevchenko scored 127 goals for Milan in 226 Serie A appearances for the San Siro side.

Official: Thiago Silva will stay at Milan

The San Siro outfit have guaranteed that the highly-rated Brazilian defender will not leave the club with a statement on their website, as negotiations with PSG break down
A statement on the club’s official website read: “The president Silvio Berlusconi has decided: Thiago Silva will stay at Milan.”
Earlier on Thursday, Thiago Silva’s agent stated that his client should be offered an improved contract if he is to stay at Milan, whom he joined from Fluminense in 2009 in a €10 million deal.

And Berlusconi added that, despite “an extraordinary offer”, the club were determined not to sanction any move.
Berlusconi added: “We refused an offer of €46 million. My old Milanista heart made me say no. We didn’t change our minds. We didn’t want to sell the player, but we received an extraordinary offer from PSG.”
Meanwhile, PSG have also issued a statement on their website saying that they have pulled out of negotiations for the 27-year-old.

Ibrahimovic could leave Milan

According to some Italian newspapers, Milan is facing real inside crisis. The lack of bringing quality players seems that made some star Milan players think twice where their future lies. Seems Thiago Silva drama is affecting Ibrahimovic who has made clear that if Silva leaves, he will be searching for another club.
"Ibra has his own goals in life, like every other star of his calibre. Zlatan has asked Milan staff for squad investment, for new players to arrive. If these players don't arrive then Ibra will sit down with Galliani to discuss his options. Galliani and Berlusconi should sit and think wisely, after they decide for new players Ibrahimovic will also ask for a rise on his paycheck. I don't guarantee that Ibra will stay in San Siro, there is a real option that he will leave, because we have serious offers from clubs abroad" - said Mino Raiola, Ibra's agent.

Leonardo: "PSG will not pay "crazy money" for Thiago Silva or Tevez"

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has revealed that signing Kaka is no longer a priority for the club and insisted that they will not be held to ransom over their attempts to sign Thiago Silva and Carlos Tevez.

The former Milan and Inter coach heaped praise on Kaka last month and it was expected that the Ligue 1 outfit would make a move for the Real Madrid attacker when the transfer window opens on July 1.However, Leonardo insists that too much has been made of his comments and his allegedly excellent rapport with his fellow Brazilian.

"I have no personal relationship with Kaka, upon which everyone has been basing this proposed transfer," the former Seleccao star told Le Parisien. "In fact, Kaka is no longer a priority."

PSG have already come close to signing both Thiago Silva and Tevez, though, having very nearly succeeded with €46 million bid for the former earlier in June and made an approach for the latter in January.
Leonardo hinted that both players remain at the top of the Ligue 1 side's shopping list but claimed that they will not pay over the odds for either man.

"As everyone says we have a lot of money, but often the negotiations are very difficult," he explained. "There is no question of paying too much. We have a limit, both for Thiago Silva and for Tevez. Like all coaches, [Carlo Ancelotti] would like to have his squad as soon as possible. But I am in no hurry. And above all else, I do not want to send the signal to other clubs that I have to hurry."

PSG, who finished as runners-up to Montpellier in the French championship last season, signed Alex and Italy international Thiago Motta during the January transfer window.

Thiago Silva has been removed from "New Milan Kit" poster

If you logged in few days earlier in milan store web site (http://store.acmilan.com/) you would have seen the poster on the picture with Ibrahimovic, Ambrosini, Boateng, Nocerino and THIAGO SILVA. But today if you access the same web site you will see a slight change, the same poster but without Thiago Silva on it. Some fans over internet are asking themselfs is this a pre-sale action from Milan management? Some informations as published earlier from AC Milan Macedonia suggest that Silva drama box is not fully closed. Silva from on hand wants a better improved yearly income while Galliani and Co. on the other hand are trying to reduce the impact that financial crises has hit Milan be lowering wages, bonuses and transfer activity. Silva's agent said in case Milan fails to meet his agent's demands the player will request a transfer and reunite with Carlo Ancelotti in PSG.
While some players were ready to give up a considerable amount of money to join Milan (Tevez last summer was ready to take this sacrifice, but Manchester City stopped him), others like Thiago Silva (who is well respected from die hard Milan fans) are playing on a risky cards by asking more and more money. The same Thiago Silva a year earlier stated that he desires to follow Maldini's footseps by becoming a Milan captain and legend. As a Milan fan I could advice Thiago Silva not to go against his own words, the well and hard earned respect from Milan faithfull fans will come back and hunt him the same way it came back for Shevchenko and Kaka. Both latter players after leaving Milan had nightmares playing for their "after-Milan" clubs (Kaka's nightmare is still on). He should learn from these mistakes.
Let's wait and see what he'll choose. A Legend or A Failure.

[Updated] la Gazzetta: "Silva threatens to reopen PSG negotiations"

More developments has surfaced today, according to la Gazzetta, Milan central defender Thiago Silva has asked the administration for a significant increase of yearly income in order to extend his contract. While Silva is asking more money for his signature, Flamini has officialy extended the contract and from €5 million he accepted a reducment and will "only"get €1.2 million. Nearly every Milan player that has accepted to extend their Milan contract also accepted a lower wage due to economical crises that has hurted Milan badly on recent years. Reports say if Milan refuses to offer Silva more money, Silva's agent will reopen PSG transfer negotiations. What do you think is it smarter, to give Silva what "he deserves" or sell him to PSG ? Have your say, write your answers.
[UPDATE] 5:50 Thiago Silva drama has set to take a 360° degree turn. It has been revealed that Thiago wants € 7.5 million per season, same reports suggest also that Galliani has rejected this proposal and will not tolerate this kind of a behaviour and that he had a telephone talk with Leonardo.

Cassano: My goal against Ireland was a dream after heart surgery

The AC Milan striker admitted how lucky he felt to be playing at Euro 2012, and also praised club patron Silvio Berlusconi's resolve in not selling Brazilian defender Thiago Silva
Italy forward Antonio Cassano was grateful for his first goal at Euro 2012 against the Republic of Ireland, after heart surgery in November last year threatened to rule him out of the tournament in the first place. The opening of his account coincided with a 2-0 win for Italy over the Boys in Green which, combined with Spain's victory over Croatia, set up a quarter-final date for the Azzurri against England.

"When I was recovering, my first thoughts were to go back to living, I've made three thousand sacrifices to be here, and my goal helping us to progress to the quarter-finals is a dream. Of course, when it's someone like [Andrea] Pirlo taking the corner, it's that much easier."- Cassano told Sportmediaset.
The 29-year-old then lauded AC Milan's decision to turn down Paris Saint-Germain's massive bid for club-mate Thiago Silva, who has established himself as one of the world's best defenders at San Siro.

"I'm happy Thiago [Silva] will be remaining at Milan next season," Cassano added. "It was an obvious act of love to the club by the president."
Silvio Berlusconi rejected a €47 million offer that would have seen the centre-back reunited with former Milan coach Leonardo at the Parisian side.

Barbara Berlusconi the main reason of Thiago Silva transfer stoppage

Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi decided to keep Thiago Silva after reportedly reading an 18-page document produced by daughter Barbara on why he shouldn’t be sold. The Diavolo were in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain to sell the Brazilian for over €40m, until Berlusconi blocked the sale. According to Sport Mediaset, Barbara Berlusconi, who has been a board member at the club since April 2011, was opposed to the transfer. She presented her father with a dossier which highlighted that letting the South American leave would damage the club in the long run. Although the outfit’s finances would have been boosted by such a cash injection, she argued that his loss would disappoint fans and sponsors. It may also have had a detrimental effect to the quality of the team which could then subsequently jeopardise future qualification for the Champions League. Barbara Berlusconi is currently in a relationship with Rossoneri striker Alexandre Pato.
Thank You, Barbara for the logical intervention :)

Allegri on keeping Thiago Silva: "It is a huge gift to the team and the fans"

The Brazil international appeared to be the verge of moving to Paris Saint-Germain but the former Italian Prime Minister decided against selling the player at the last minute

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his gratitude to club owner Silvio Berlusconi for turning down Paris Saint-Germain's bid for star defender Thiago Silva, describing it as "a huge gift".
The Brazil international appeared bound for the Parc des Princes after the Qatari-owned Ligue 1 outfit offered €46 million for his services. However, Berlusconi changed his mind over the deal and Thiago Silva now looks set to remain at San Siro along with another rumoured PSG target, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"It was a big decision and president Silvio Berlusconi gave a huge gift to the team and fans," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.
"Ibrahimovic will also stay. He had a strong season, scoring 28 goals. The club decided not to dismantle the squad and will keep the foundations of the team intact. The side is almost complete, but the market is open until August 31 and anything can still happen."
Thiago Silva is now being tipped to sign an improved contract with the club he joined from Fluminense in 2009.

Adriano Galliani reveals "Milan on a transfer diet"

Adriano Galliani has revealed Milan’s transfer plans for the summer after the club opted to reject Paris Saint-Germain’s bid for Thiago Silva.
The Diavolo informed the French outfit last night that the Brazilian would stay at San Siro after President Silvio Berlusconi decided against cashing in on him.

“We’re happy,” Galliani told Radio Sportiva on Friday. “I’ve already said that Berlusconi was heroic for resisting more than €40m in the knowledge that the accounts are in the red and he’ll now have to balance things out himself. The decision was made last night. The President took a couple of days to think about it, but he made the choice on his own. We won’t sell anyone and that includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”
It is the second time in six months that PSG have tried and failed to sign a Brazilian from the San Siro giants.

“With Alexandre Pato there was a triangle with Manchester City for Carlos Tevez,” the official continued.
“This time we were talking about selling a player for a record fee for a defender. They were two different negotiations. Now we had to simply decide whether or not to sell the best defender in the world.”
Milan are one of numerous clubs feeling the pinch in these difficult financial times and Galliani has warned fans to not expect a busy summer in the market.
“We’ll bring in a fifth centre-back,” he revealed. “If Genoa sign Chievo’s half share in Francesco Acerbi then it will be him. We’ll get a midfielder too or keep Mathieu Flamini or Alberto Aquilani. We are fine in attack.”
